After asking about the service history, we found out the boiler had never been professionally maintained since it was installed. I removed and cleaned the igniter and flame sensor (flame rod), reset the boiler, and got the system firing properly again. While the immediate issue was resolved, this boiler is overdue for a complete annual maintenance to prevent future breakdowns and improve efficiency. The client signed up for our Condensing Boiler Service Agreement, and we’ll be returning to perform a full combustion chamber cleaning, heat exchanger inspection, condensate system cleaning, safety checks, and complete preventative maintenance.
