【夫婦ツーリング】 Royal Enfield で訪ねる、東京に残る古道「絹の道」へ

From the late Edo period to the Meiji era, Japanese raw silk captivated Europe. We visited the "Silk Road (Tokyo's Silk Road)," the route taken by merchants from Yarimizu to transport this raw silk to the port of Yokohama. This time, we traveled to Hachioji in early summer on two motorcycles: my Royal Enfield "Bullet 350 (Maroon)" and my wife's "Classic 350 (Signals Sand Beige)." Along the way, we parked our bikes and hiked along the unpaved ancient roads that have remained unchanged since the Edo period. We visited the ruins of Doryodo Temple and the Silk Road Museum (site of the Yagishita Yoemon residence), spending a holiday reflecting on the remnants of history. On the way back, we also photographed the exterior of the charming thatched-roof "Koizumi House." It was a truly adult country tour, where you can only appreciate the scenery by stopping the engine and taking off your helmet and walking.
