Built in the 17th century by Raja Madho Singh, the younger brother of the famous Mughal general Man Singh, Bhangarh was once a flourishing town filled with temples, palaces, markets, and residential houses. Today, it stands in ruins, surrounded by legends that have earned it the reputation of being India’s most haunted place. Architecturally, Bhangarh Fort reflects classic Rajput design. As visitors enter through the massive gateway, they pass remnants of bazaars, havelis, temples dedicated to Hanuman, Shiva, and Gopinath, and finally the royal palace complex. The fort was strategically positioned between the Aravalli hills, offering natural protection and scenic beauty.
