Hotel Review: Eden Roc Cap Cana, Dominican Republic

It has been Max and I's dream to stay at the Eden Roc Cap Cana for several years and it finally happened! During our extended stay in the Dominican, we had the opportunity to spend a few nights in this tropical paradise and it didn't disappoint. Stay tuned to the end of the video for our new COVID-19 Safety Rating. Note: our newest rating is not factored into the overall score so as to not impact the hotel's rating pre or post pandemic. Eden Roc Cap Cana is made up of two entirely separate areas of the resort: the tropical villas and the beach front suites and bungalows. We were booked into a one bedroom villa with a private pool and fell in love with the privacy it affords, particularly during this crazy COVID-19 travel time. The beach suites and bungalows are the newest additions to the property and offer stunning views, modern amenities and a central location to the beach. Honeymooners and families alike will enjoy either room type, but we definitely recommend the beach front if you don't want to get far to get to the action. The villas are a perfect escape if you plan on spending most of the time in your private pool and massive indoor-outdoor bathroom. Dining at Eden Roc is exceptional: with its Paella for two, fresh seafood and delicious cocktails. They certainly pass the Aperol test. We loved the understated elegance and quiet nature of the resort: this is not a party scene. I did have a chance to check out the Natura Bisse spa and it was incredible. My favorite brand has been NB for several years and the massage was just as deep tissue as I was hoping for. While the spa experience is a bit different during COVID, it was still excellent and I was the only person in the spa. The barrier is far enough out to not disturb beachgoers and swimmers on the private bay. Our favorite features of the property are the private beachfront, the oceanfront restaurant and the Natura Bisse Spa. If you're headed down to Eden Roc, don't forget to try their paella for two. Your stay at Eden Roc includes a complimentary airport transfer and the property is only 15 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport, making it an incredibly easy escape. Cap Cana itself is a gated community with full time security and every guest must be registered upon entry. It's incredibly safe, lush and beautiful. Every guest gets their own golf cart while on property. You are allowed to take the golf cart anywhere within the Cap Cana complex to explore alternative dining options and shopping. Cap Cana is a large gated community with multiple marinas, shopping centers and dining options so if you get bored of staying in one place, you are free to move around as you wish in a very safe way.
