Melchizedek - From Shem to Christ - Part 1 of 4
Melchizedek from Shem to Christ is a fascinating topic in the Word of God. Although it's often misunderstood or held as a mystery, a careful study of the Bible reveals the order of Melchizedek. The theme of Melchizedek runs through all of the Bible, even though it's only mentioned in three books: Genesis, Psalms, and Hebrews. In Genesis 14, we read about a battle between four kings and five kings. Abraham's nephew, Lot, was taken captive along with other people and goods by the enemy. Abraham, with his army of 318 armed men, went after the captors and retrieved Lot and the other people and goods. On his way back to camp, he was met by the king of Sodom and Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God. Who was Melchizedek? Some believe that he was a theophany of Jesus Christ, while others believe that he was Shem, one of the sons of Noah. However, after studying the Bible, it's clear that Melchizedek was indeed Shem. Shem was alive at the time when Melchizedek met Abraham, as he outlived Abraham by 35 years. Shem was a devout and godly man and received the blessing from Noah, who said, "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem." Melchizedek, in Genesis 14, held two offices: king and priest of the Most High God. The dual authority of civil and religious power was invested in the Adamic race, in Adam and his descendants. Shem received this authority from Noah, and it was passed down to Abram. In Psalm 110, David prophesied that Jesus Christ would be a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Jesus fulfilled the order of Melchizedek while on earth and now possesses civil and religious authority. He is the rightful king of the Israel Nations, including the United States, Great Britain, Canada, and Northwestern European people, who are the true Israelites of God. However, these nations have rejected Jesus Christ as their king, and this is the reason why they are having so much trouble. In conclusion, the order of Melchizedek is a crucial topic for every believer to understand. It reveals the dual authority of civil and religious power invested in the Adamic race, which was passed down to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the rightful king of the Israel Nations, and we must acknowledge Him as our king if we want to live under His blessing and protection. Truth in History with Charles A.
