1945: The Short Mission of the Frankfurt Home Guard Battalion from Gutleut Barracks vs. US Army
In the last years of World War II, the Wehrmacht regional security bataillon 604 (Landesschützenbataillon 604) was stationed at Gutleut Barracks in Frankfurt. After 1945 that "Kaserne" was used by the US Army. In 1984 a former private of LSB 604 visited his old barracks and remembered his last mission against infantry of the US 5th infantry division near the Rhine-Main-Airport.
