St. Francis College for Women started in 1959, is a Catholic Minority Institution founded by Sisters of Charity for the Holistic Education of Women. Autonomy was conferred to the college by the UGC in 1988 and has proved to be a trendsetter in Academic Development with a commitment to value system and qualitative self improvement. The College was Accredited with 5 stars by NAAC in the year 1999, Re-accredited at ‘A’ level in the year 2006, 2012 & 2019 (4th Cycle). UGC declared the college as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ in the year 2004, renewed that status in 2010 and recognised as High Performance Institution. The College curriculum is based on UGC advocated CBCS and offers UG & PG Courses in Faculty of Science, Arts, Commerce and Management.
