OVER 30 NEW IDEAS TO UPCYCLE OLD JEANS

I was looking at Pinterest today, trying to find some new ideas to upcycle old things. Ya know, Pinterest has some really creative people on it. I ran across over 30 unique ideas to upcycle old jeans. There are some really exceptional designs, and I’d like to recreate one myself. Once I get 100 votes or 100 likes, I will recreate one of the winning ideas. 3 Take some old jeans, and cut some hearts out of them. Stuff each heart, and stitch around the outside, leaving the edges to fray. When sewing your hearts, be sure to add the cord for hanging into the top of the heart. Put your hearts on key chains, and you have some lovely gifts to give or fancy key chains for yourself. 5 Cut a pair of jeans at the point where the zipper ends in the front. Next, grab several ties and cut them to the length you wish Sew them all the way around the edge of the top of your jeans. Sew on some chains to embellish the skirt further, and you have a very pretty and unique skirt. 7 Cut a pair of old jeans just below the back pockets. Cut a piece of fabric the length you want. To get the right gathering, cut the width about 1 ½ to 2 times the length of the waist band of your jeans. Gather your bottom skirt and sew it to the bottom you cut off of the jeans. Add a matching wide piece of lace just above the skirt area, and you have a beautiful new skirt. 9 To make the top frame, cut the decorative seams out of some jeans. Grab a picture frame and wrap the strips all around the frame. Find something to frame, and hang your new décor. 11 These are a little odd to me, but still worth adding to the list. Cut the legs of of a pair of jeans. Use scissors and sand paper to distress the legs. Hem the top and bottom. Then place them on your legs and be the only one at the party with shoes that have been turned into boots with jeans. 13 This is great for all kinds of storage situations. Use a pair of jeans for the base of your hanger. Just cut off the legs, and sew them together to get the proper width. Place a variety of pockets onto your backing. If you want an extra decoration, sew the waistband of your jeans at the top. Hang it on a dowel to hang on the wall. Place all of your gadgets in the pockets and enjoy a more organized life. 15 First start out with a patch work base to sit your sewing machine on. Then, add another piece of denim to attach the pockets to. Attach the pockets and you’ll have your most used findings in a super convenient spot. 17 Grab several colorful scarves and set them aside. Cut a pair of old jeans off just below the pockets in the back, using a wavy, uneven cut. Sew the scarves all the way around the bottom of your pants. Now put them on, and wait for the compliments to come rolling in. 19 Cut the bottom off of a pair of old jeans just below the zipper. Grab your favorite fabric and add about another ½ of the length of the waist band to get the gathers in the skirt. Sew the fabric to the bottom of the skirt, gathering it as you go. Hem the bottom. Be sure to add a piece of the fabric at the top sewn over the waist band. When you do this take the belt loops off and then replace them once you have the fabric sewn on. 21 Cut an old pair of pants off just below the zipper. Cut your fabric for the bottom of the skirt in the same manner as mentioned before. Sew the fabric to the bottom of your jeans. Cut a long piece of fabric to make the belt. Make the width of the ribbon about 4 inches, sew the sides together inside out and then flip it to get about a 2 inch wide band. Cut it as long as you would like to have your bow perfect. Then put the belt on and tie it in a bow in the front. Tying it on the side would look nice as well. 23 Cut the front of your jeans just below the zipper and the back in the V shape as shown. Last, sew handkerchiefs all the way around the skirt. Super unique! 25 Cut two belt loops off of a pair of old jeans. Finish the top and bottom edges. Last, use a Bedazler, sew on or glue on 3 rhinestones. Attach them to earring hangers and you are done. 27 Cut the collar off or an old denim jacket. Cut the decorative seams off of the sides of some jeans. Attach the loops to the collar, making a necklace. 29 Cut the top off of a pair of old overalls. Use a variety of jeans to make the patchwork skirt. Either place elastic in the back or a zipper to ensure you can get in and out of the dress.
