Sidsel Winther | Afgang 2026

Danish artist Sidsel Winther works with sculpture, casting, and recycled clay to explore support structures, care, and the quieter narratives that sustain larger histories. Drawing on fragments from classical Greek sculptures, her works shift attention toward the overlooked elements that hold monumental stories together: supports, cracks, wounds, and traces of labour that often remain invisible. In the film, Winther reflects on art as a way of giving voice to what cannot speak and creating space for stories that have not been written or passed down. Through material processes, bodily forms, and imperfect surfaces, she explores vulnerability, interdependence, and the existential connection between human beings, materials, and the world around us. The film was created in connection with Afgang 2026 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg presenting this year’s 27 graduating artists from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts. Produced and filmed by Ditlev Fejrskov and Kavian Borhani for Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
