According to its listing in the official Shelby Registry, the GT350 was completed at Shelby American on May 28, 1965, and sold by Herb Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. By the early 1970s, it had been modified for autocross, eventually winning more than 100 First Place awards and setting Fastest Time of the Day nearly 40 times throughout the decade. With its flared wheel arches, Shelby R-Model front apron and many other modifications, the GT350 remains eligible for today’s SVRA competition.
