While this version ultimately did not make it onto the album, we loved it too much to leave it sitting on a hard drive. The biggest difference is the addition of Cassandra Ryder's banjo, which gives the song an even more frontier-infused feel while still retaining the heavy groove and energy of the original. The video itself is something a little different for us. Rather than a performance video, it features footage from various photo shoots with the three women of Shunned at a Funeral attempting to hold serious poses for promotional photos... and failing spectacularly. Most of the blame can probably be assigned to Cassandra, who has a long-standing reputation for being completely incapable of keeping a straight face for more than a few seconds at a time. What starts as a serious photo session usually turns into laughter, joking, and everyone trying unsuccessfully to regain composure before the next camera click. We thought fans might enjoy seeing a lighter side of the project and the personalities behind the characters. The original song is inspired by Ezekiel 37 and the Valley of Dry Bones, where God asks the prophet, "Son of man, can these bones live?" What follows is a powerful picture of God's ability to bring life from death and hope from hopelessness. This Banjo Redux version keeps that same message while adding a little extra frontier flavor to the mix. Thank you for supporting the project and for continuing to be part of the Shunned at a Funeral family. Much love, Shunned at a Funeral © 2026 Shunned at a Funeral. All rights reserved.
