The Life of Apollonius of Tyana (Books 5-8)

CORRECTION: I discovered an article after putting this video together that suggests that Euphrates is NOT a fictional character, but could be Euphrates of Tyre, a historical person. We continue our walkthrough of the biography of Apollonius of Tyana, written by Philostratus during the Severan period of the Roman empire. In this video, we cover the second half of the text with a special focus on its central conflict: philosophy vs. tyranny. Apollonius faces off against the tyrant Domitian and proves once and for all that good leadership is accompanied by the pursuit of truth and justice.
