How I Reshape My Bent Rings

Hi Everyone! Today’s DIY isn’t a craft, it’s a jewelry hack for fixing bent or misshapen rings. Basically, if you wear rings for a while, you’ll notice that over time they will start to warp from a circle into some weird oblong shape. Instead of taking mine to the jeweler to fix all the time I tend to reshape them myself at home. Disclaimer: I’m not a jeweler. This is what I personally do for my rings, you need to make the best choice for your own jewelry. Important note: my rings have a thin band. That’s what makes this doable in the method provided in the video. Also, I’d like to point out that none of these rings have stones in them. They are just metal rings. I’m not sure if that makes a difference, but it’s probably not a good idea to be messing with a ring’s shape if it’s also trying to hold a stone in place. You might accidentally move a prong or something and lose the stone. Better safe than sorry! The method is simple. Find something round in a similar size to your ring. Heat the ring in warm/hot water and reshape by threading your ring onto the heat resistant round object. (I used a marker in this video. Feel free to be creative!) Gently but firmly press the edges into the round shape to correct the bending metal into a circle once again. These don’t always turn out perfectly, but I usually get a really good result from this technique and I hope it helps you guys!
