Introduction to my Myford Super 7 lathe
This is a brief overview of the Myford Super 7 lathe that I have in my home workshop. It's roughly 40-42 years old, purchased from a seller on eBay 2012 up in the Hull area. It was supplied with a ton of tools and materials which made the purchase worthwhile. It's as clean as they come for this age, the ways are clean/dig free and smooth. The various leadscrews operate with minimal backlash and the gibs are adjusted to give a firm but smooth travel with no play. The 3 phase motor with Mitsubishi D700 speed controller was supplied by Newton Tesla, the DRO equipment was from an eBay seller. Two very worthwhile upgrade options for your own Super 7, assuming you use the lathe regularly (as I currently am, virtually 7 days a week, up until midnight most nights!)
