Danny Dixxon's ’64 Impala has been one of those “take your time and do it right” builds — and we mean that literally… this project has been in the works for a couple YEARS. The goal from day one: keep the classic soul, but upgrade everything under the skin like it was always meant to be there. We went LS3, but we didn’t want it to scream “modern swap” when you pop the hood. So we put in the hours to make the LS3 look like the original 327, keeping that vintage engine-bay vibe alive — clean, period-correct at a glance, but with all the reliability and punch you want when you actually drive it. And then we gave it the treatment it deserved underneath: a full hydraulic makeover using CCE (@coolcarsengineering) parts, set up and dialed in by the Switch crew. Not just “throw parts on it” — we’re talking proper fitment, clean routing of the hardlines, clean mounting, clean pump builds, clean finish, and making sure it moves the way it should every single time. This is one of those builds where the attention to detail is actually insane. The kind of car you can stare at for 10 minutes and keep finding new little things that were done “extra” for no reason other than pride. Danny’s ’64 is officially one of those Switch projects we’re gonna be talking about for a long time.
