Shape - Episode 03 w/ Paul Chevallot

Paul Chevallot left aerospace engineering to build skis. As ZAG's prototypist, he's the one who turns the shapers' drawings into physical objects you can actually ride. He programs the cuts, selects the wood, profiles the core, layers the fibres, and holds a ski where there was only a file. His work starts where the design stops. It ends when the ski hits snow. He's the youngest on the team, the last one in, and already the one trusted with turning matter into meaning. Three new freeride prototypes are in development inside the ZAG Lab, minutes from the north faces of Chamonix. 95, 105, 110 mm underfoot. Three hypotheses he machines one by one. Morning test runs on snow, afternoon modifications in the workshop. That's the power of keeping your lab at the foot of the Grands Montets.
