Brian Blessed: Best. Death Scene. Ever.
The 1976 television series "I, Claudius" starred, among many other notables, the talented Brian Blessed as Augustus, the first Roman emperor. More known for his bombastically loud and jovial characters (Prince Vultan, "Flash Gordon"; Richard IV, "The Black Adder"), it is in this scene where his talent is shown in full and understated glory. Poisoned by his wife, Livia, Augustus dies slowly, the life leaving his eyes. Truly a remarkable performance by Blessed as he lays there for minutes not breathing or moving.
