But it turns out Aster wasn't able to fit everything he wanted to in the theatrical version, which led to him releasing a director's cut. This extended version expands on the relationship between Dani and Christian, the conflict over Josh's thesis, and the rituals of the Harga, the Swedish cult at the center of the film.
