Atoms are particles so small that they cannot be seen even with the most powerful microscopes. Let's try to explain the small size of the atom with an example: Imagine you have a key in your hand. Of course, it's impossible to see the atoms inside this key. To see them, let's say you enlarge your key to the size of the Earth. Only if the key in your hand were enlarged to the size of the Earth would each atom inside the key be the size of a cherry, and you could see them. Every atom is composed of a nucleus and electrons orbiting far beyond the nucleus. The radius of the nucleus is one ten-thousandth of the atom's radius. As we mentioned earlier, when you enlarge your key to the size of the Earth, let's search for the nucleus among the cherry-sized atoms that emerge. But this search is futile, because even on such a scale, we have absolutely no way of observing the much smaller nucleus. For us to be able to see the nucleus, the cherry representing our atom would have to grow back into a massive ball two hundred meters high. Despite this incredible size, the nucleus of our atom would still be no larger than a tiny grain of dust. Now, let's see the order in this tiny structure: Electrons in an atom constantly revolve around the nucleus due to their electric charge. All electrons have a negative (-) electric charge, while all protons have a positive (+) charge. The positive charge in the atom's nucleus attracts the electrons. Therefore, the electrons cannot leave the nucleus. The number of protons at the center of an atom equals the number of electrons outside. This balances the atoms' electrical charges. However, a proton has much more volume and mass than an electron. In comparison, the difference between them is like the difference between a human and a hazelnut. Yet, their electrical charges are the same. So, what would happen if the electrical charges of protons and electrons were not equal? In this case, all atoms in the universe would have a positive electric charge due to the excess positive charge in the proton. As a result, every atom in the universe would repel each other. What would happen if every atom in the universe repelled each other? What will happen is extraordinary. The moment this change in atoms occurs, your hands and arms, currently holding this book, will instantly shatter. Not just your hands and arms; your torso, legs, head, eyes, teeth—in short, every part of your body will instantly explode. The room you're sitting in, the outside world visible through the window, will also instantly dissipate into thin air. All the seas and mountains on Earth, all the planets in the Solar System, and all the celestial bodies in the universe will simultaneously shatter into infinite pieces and vanish. And no visible object in the universe will ever exist again. Moreover, such an event for living things can occur with a mere shift in the balance between the electrical charges of electrons and protons by just one part in 100 billion. The destruction of the universe, however, would occur with a shift in this balance of one part in a billion billion. In other words, the existence of the universe and living things is possible thanks to such delicate order. #miraclesofcreation
