EDIP: Why are you so curious about my friendship with Rashad Khalifa? • The man is dead, and I have no contact with the dead. • I did not consider him innocent; he had opinions I agreed with and disagreed with. • We had many wonderful moments with him, and we also had some very heated disagreements and arguments... • My Lord, who warned him with the Quran and guided him, warned me in the same way and united me in the same monotheistic belief. • I loved Rashad very much and respected him very much. • I did not listen to him like those who listen to their leaders in a trance. • I did not respect him like those who kneel before sheikhs and kiss their hands. • I addressed him by his first name, and he addressed me by my first name. • Our relationship was sometimes father-son, sometimes friends. • I didn't follow him like those who follow muftis issuing fatwas. • I didn't follow him like those who follow the imams of the schools of thought. • I didn't see him as a lawmaker who shares God's authority. • I'm not Rashad Khalifa's caliph. • I'm not Rashad Khalifa's disciple either. • I don't communicate with his spirit. • I don't perform Rabita (religious intercession). • I don't expect his intercession. • So, why are you so curious about my past relationship with that man? QUESTION: Why was Rashad Khalifa so interested in you? How did he recognize you and establish contact with you at that time? What did he see in you? EDİP: Rashad was a monotheistic Muslim… Because he dedicated his faith solely to God and rejected the hadith slander fabricated by the Prophet's enemies 200-500 years after the revelation of the Quran, that is, ignorant and polytheistic sources, he was declared an apostate by the Sunni community, subjected to slander and threats, and was rejected by his father, the sheikh of the Shadhili order in Egypt… In this respect, we shared the same faith and destiny. In 1989, when I still hadn't completely given up on Türkiye, I attended an international conference in Tucson, and we worked together for a few months at Masjid Tucson. For about a year, he was a father, a teacher, a discussion partner, and a colleague. We became very close. But he possessed a gentleness and humility I hadn't seen in my father. I could address him as Rashad and easily discuss my ideas with him. He was at ease… He was a believer who had placed his trust in his Lord. Unfortunately, the Sunnis, who inherited their ancestors' religion without questioning it, failed to appreciate that man. On the contrary, they embraced every kind of lie and slander to discredit him. Finally, they murdered him, and almost all of them wailed "oh my!" over that murder. Just like the Jews and polytheists who killed God's messengers and companions in the past! QUESTION: Rashad Khalifa... So, from whom and what ideas was he inspired? Did he deny the Surah al-Tawbah, as claimed? What is the root of this matter? EDIP: Rashad was inspired by the Rahman, the teacher of the Quran. Rashad did not deny any surah or verse. On the contrary, he proved the perfect, literal preservation of the Quran by God through the mathematical system in the Quran. None of the clerics who associate countless fabricated books with the Quran and who have turned a blind eye and deaf ear to numerous verses in the Quran, yet who have never left a shred of dust in the name of the Quran, have ever been able to provide even a fraction of such a proof. I have a Turkish book on the subject, titled "Öz 19 Var" (On 19 Var). My more recent and comprehensive book, "NINETEEN: God's Signature in Nature and Scripture," has not yet been translated into Turkish. As someone who has risked everything for the Quran, how can I claim that there have been additions or deletions to the Quran, which God has guaranteed to protect? Interestingly, those who accuse me of removing verses from the Quran deny numerous verses in the Quran. They abrogated verses with verses, verses with hadiths, and even fabricated verses and fed them to goats. According to their own sources, they exalt Companions like Ibn Mas'ud, who removed two surahs from the Quranic mushaf instead of two verses, and Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who added two surahs to his mushaf, and accept hundreds of hadiths based on them as the source of their religion. You can find claims that verses and even surahs have been lost or corrupted in the most authentic Sunni and Shia hadith books. Furthermore, they associate dozens of volumes of storybooks with the Quran. This is what you call a wicked thief.
