The Week Our Narrowboat Tested Our Sense of Humour

Bad things don't always happen in threes, do they? This week, the weather turned properly miserable—wet, windy, the lot. Then our water pump decided to pack it in, sending Jack out into the storm to top us up manually. Not ideal. Our car failing its MOT was just the cherry on top. But then we woke up to one of those mornings that reminds you why you chose this life. Cold, still, and absolutely stunning—the kind of crisp winter sunrise where the season really sings. We spend the morning together as a family (yes, Joe makes an appearance for those who've been asking!), soak in the beauty of it all, and then Jack gets the DIY gear out to sort the pump once and for all. Sometimes the tough weeks are the ones that remind you what matters most. We’d meant to get this up before Christmas, but life is always so hectic at this time of year! Lots of last minute Xmas shopping was done. We hope you had a cosy break full of good food and festive cheer — thank you so much for being with us this year.
