How Sexism Affects us all | Julia Hardy | TEDxYYC
Julia Hardy tells us how she uses humour to combat endemic online sexism, and explains how the actions of this small percentage of men not only adversely affect and change women’s behaviour, but actually cause detriment to other men. Julie Hardy is a technology and gaming expert based in London, UK and hosts a new radio show on video game culture on BBC Radio 1. Specializing in technology, video games, YouTube and pretty much anything to do with the online self, Julia’s work has been featured by BBC TV, Bravo and BAFTA. Julia takes a passionate stance on online issues and created a blog called “Misogyny Monday” as a platform to raise awareness of the abuse that many women encounter online. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
