I don't want to grow up 🎶 From the shelf… 🧸 Brown Bear has a special love for “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up,” because he has spent enough time in human civilization to recognize a pattern. In the forest, he has seen other bears, like his mom and dad (on the shelf with him), grow lazy, tired, and fat. But when Sunflower’s bass guitar rumbles through his fuzzy little soul, it makes him want to leap off the shelf, stomp around the room, and forget every grown-up rule for a while. Being a timid bear cub, he holds it all in while perched up high… daydreaming about the moment the humans leave the studio so he can pogo dance with Rose the Rabbit. 🧸❤️🐇 Audio… To suit Sunflower’s vocal range, we raised the key 3 whole steps. This song was recorded on May 16, 2026 in our basement studio on 6 separate tracks, using a Zoom H6 audio interface, which was then mixed in GarageBand: 1. Vocals (Audix OM5 Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphones) 2. Lead guitar (Gibson Les Paul Studio) & amp (Marshall Valvestate 2000) w/pedal (Boss ME-80) 3. Bass guitar (Ibanez miKro) & amp (Fender Rumble 40) 4. Bass drum (Ludwig Neusonic 22” Bass Drum) 5. Toms/snare (Ludwig 13" Tom, 16" Floor Tom, and 14” Snare) 6. Cymbals (Zildjian A Custom Cymbals - (16” hi-hat, 18” & 20” crash, 20” ride) *The drums were recorded using an overhead stereo pair of sE Electronics sE8 condenser microphones, complemented by an Audix D6 cardioid dynamic microphone for the kick drum. To ensure a precise balance and bring out the nuances of each instrument, we relied on Sennheiser HD-660S2 headphones during the mastering process. Given the small size of our studio and the inherent challenge of the drums' volume, we are continually working to achieve the best possible sound.
