Speaks the One who is exalted, the anointed by the God of Jacob, the one who sings well of Israel. 2 The Spirit of the LORD speaks through me; His word is on my tongue. 3 The God of Israel speaks, and the Rock of Israel says to me: “He who rules with righteousness, who rules with the fear of God. 4 He is like the morning light of the rising sun, like a morning without clouds, like the rays of new grass sprouting from the earth after the rain.” 5 Is not my house like this before God? God has established with me an everlasting covenant, complete and firm in all things Since He has done so, how can He not fulfill all my salvation and all my desires? 6 But all the wicked are like thornbush to be cast away, for they cannot be grasped by hand. 7 Whoever touches them must take iron and a spear shaft, for they will burn them up immediately. 8 These are the names of David’s mighty men: Joseph-Bathzebet the Dagmonite and Adino the Esenite, the chief of the commanders; he struck down eight hundred men at once. 9 Next is Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahoahite, one of the three mighty men with David. When the Philistines gathered there to fight, the Israelites withdrew; and the three mighty men provoked the battle. 10 He went out and struck down the Philistines until his hand was weary and stuck to the sword.
