The redeemability of Orcs is an open question in Tolkien's legendarium, unresolved by the author himself: throughout his life, Tolkien frequently changed his mind and offered various theories on the nature of Orcs, without ever reaching a satisfactory conclusion. As a result of the creation of other creatures, Orcs are an abomination and inextricably linked to evil, but this does not mean that Eru/Ilúvatar cannot recapitulate them within himself and his plan.
