VW Golf R Mk8 vs Mk7.5: ARRANCONES

Who wants some drag racing?! We've brought the new Golf R Mk8 to pit itself against its bigger brother, the Mk7, to see which is the fastest in the quarter-mile. As you might have suspected, on paper, there isn't much difference between the two. Starting with the Mk8, which has a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can generate 320 hp and 420 Nm. It weighs 1,551 kg and costs around £39,000. As for the Mk7, it also has a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, although this one generates 300 hp and 400 Nm. And it weighs slightly less, at 1,483 kg. Although that's because the newer Golf R comes with a more advanced all-wheel drive system. So, how do you see it? Will it be an easy win for the Mk8?
