Bonsai 'Back to Basics' - Quince

In this video I’m attempting to rescue a much loved Quince (var. Toyo-Nishiki) that I had for many years. The tree displayed beautiful white, pink and occasionally red flowers. It was made from a matchstick size cutting I obtained from the late Peter Adams many, many years ago. But alas, for reasons unknown it suddenly died. But happily it produced a number of suckers so I decided to keep the tree and as you will see in this video I managed to achieve some sort of structure from it and hope that one day it may produce an acceptable “bonsai” image. Fingers crossed! There is still a huge amount of work that I need to do to the tree, so this video just represents “Day One” in the life of this rescued bonsai. I will have to wait two or three years before flowers will appear on the new growth — they usually only bloom from older branches.
