VR headset highly recommended! ※ Please do not re-upload my videos. _________________________________________ Just in time for Valentine's Day, Kagamine Rin performs a lovely ballet rendition of "蜜月 (Mitsu-getsu, lit. Honeymoon) Un・Deux・Trois", chassé-ing her way into our hearts! _________________________________________ COMMENTARY: I did a ton of experimenting for this video, with mixed results. I wanted to include a gentle water rippling effect to follow Rin-chan's movements, however the effect was not fully compatible with the panorama effect suite, MikuMikuDomeMaster. It would have made the water surface look grey and washed out, so I wasn't satisfied with it. On the other hand, the ActiveParticle effect (which has Rin-chan spreading hearts out from her hands) worked great, so that was a plus. For the camera work, I wanted a different, more wistful style of motion than in my prior videos, so I tried using a motion designed for a standard non-VR version of the song. The effect was very similar to what I was looking for, but when viewed in VR the motion was far too harsh, with fast pans, rotations, and sudden direction changes. As such, I had to iteratively select and tweak the camera motions, sometimes eliminating a rotation, or slowing things down a lot. In the end, I think the motion feels a lot better; keeping that wistful style in tact while allowing the viewer a more comfortable experience.
