Mother Mridula Gupta is a retired government official, worked in Sonali Bank. Sumanta spent her childhood and adolescence in Sylhet city. She has completed her graduation and post-graduation in business administration. She is working in a private bank in Sylhet. Sumanta has been associated with the cultural environment of Sylhet since her childhood. She writes regularly in national daily newspapers. Sumanta Gupta is one of the popular travel writers at present. Whenever she gets time, she goes out to visit a new destination. She is associated with Bangladesh Betar, Sylhet center as a regular program announcer and recitation artist. She has been involved in recitation practice for a long time. Sumanta Gupta is a member of the Bangladesh Recitation Coordination Council and the founder of Shruti, Sylhet. Growing up under the inspiration of her mother since childhood.
