Jehovah’s Witness Holocaust Survivor Simone Liebster | Women’s History Month | USC Shoah Foundation

Even as a young girl, Jehovah’s Witness Holocaust survivor, Simone Maria (Arnold) Liebster, firmly stood by her own beliefs, choosing expulsion from school and social ostracization over saluting Hitler. Simone’s unwavering defiance of the Nazi regime led to her being taken from her parents, enslaved, and physically punished. Still, Simone persisted. Simone’s inspiring testimony was recorded by USC Shoah Foundation in 1997 March is Women’s History Month in the United States.
