In this new episode of #ScienceUpClose, Darío Acuña Castroviejo, Professor of Physiology at the University of Granada, explains that the nocturnal production of melatonin in the human body reaches its peak at 3 a.m. and is released from the pineal gland (located in the center of the brain and responsible for regulating day and night cycles) into the bloodstream, synchronizing the functions of all cells on a 24-hour cycle.
