My Biggest Hive Tried To Swarm - Short Form Video 21/06/26

This week’s short form follows the main event from the 21/06/26 inspection: my biggest production hive had started queen cells and was preparing to swarm. The colony was absolutely huge, with boxes of brood and honey stacked higher than me, so I had to act quickly. I found the queen, marked her, caged her, made up a nuc with her, knocked down the extra queen cells, and left the original colony with one good queen cell to raise a replacement. I also added more space to keep them busy and give the honey flow somewhere to go. There’s a giant hive, swarm cells, a very lucky queen find, a quick split, and the return of the step of beekeeping. Hope you enjoy it! #Beekeeping #Honeybees #SwarmControl #QueenRearing #BeeKeepingUK #MystTreeHoney
