Mi sono messo a dieta mediatica - e dovresti farlo anche tu | Ruggiero Rollini | TEDxBari
Every day we consume much more than we think. Not just food, but information. And, just like our diet, our media diet is often loaded with "ultra-processed" content: fast-paced, captivating, irresistible content... but lacking in substance. On supermarket shelves, we find products that fill us up without satiating us. On our smartphones, content that entertains us without truly informing us. The result is the same: an excess that still leaves us empty, a feeling of abundance that nourishes neither body nor mind. Reflecting on what we ingest and what we absorb then becomes a gesture of awareness. Because improving the quality of what we choose every day can transform our well-being, our thinking, and our way of experiencing the world. A chemistry graduate and science communicator, Ruggero Rollini fights chemophobia, the fear of chemicals. He has worked for Superquark+ and Noos and holds meetings and conferences for festivals, universities, schools, and companies. He has published: "There's Chemistry in the House" (Mondadori, 2022), "What You Know About Plastic Is Wrong" (Gribaudo, 2023), and "Communicating Science" (Carocci, 2025). He is also the co-author and voice of "Pharmakon," the podcast about the thalidomide tragedy. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
