The Constitutional Court of Moldova has ruled on a case concerning the powers of Gagauzia, upholding the Ministry of Justice's appeal. The court ruled unconstitutional the legislative provisions that granted the People's Assembly of Gagauzia the right to participate in the appointment of heads of territorial police units, the Information and Security Service, and justice agencies. Furthermore, the provisions allowing the autonomous region to have its own Central Electoral Commission to organize elections for the Bashkan and the People's Assembly were also declared unconstitutional.
