NARINGEL FESTIVE SEASON UNITY TOURNAMENT KICKED OFF BY DEPUTY GOVERNOR HON MOSIM

The eight wards of Los Negros LLG have converged at Naringel for their annual Festive Season Unity Tournament. The weeklong tournament features football, volleyball and darts, and is being staged under the theme“Strengthening Communities through Unity." The tournament was officially launched and kicked off by the President of Rapatona LLG and Deputy Manus Governor, Hon Len Temtem Mosim, who commended the wards for using sport as a platform to foster unity and positive engagement. Mosim highlighted that well-organised sporting activities can play a vital role in driving social cohesion and community development In his remarks, the Deputy Governor also addressed ongoing law and order concerns, stressing the importance of active community participation in curbing rising lawlessness, further noting that while provincial leaders can create pathways and opportunities to address such challenges, lasting change begins at home through good behaviour, discipline and shared responsibility. To support the smooth running of the tournament, Hon Mosim gifted a K500 to the Games Organising Committee and pledged his continued support for the event in the years ahead. A total of K4,500 was raised through community donations, with notable support from Lyne Hossein Rooney, who contributed K2,000. The Unity Tournament is scheduled to conclude on January 2, 2026.
