Join us LIVE from Sotheby's London for The Personal Collection of the late Sir Joseph Hotung Evening Auction – followed by The Old Masters Evening Auction. We begin with the second part of the collection of the late Sir Joseph Hotung (1930-2021), who collected with an unusually powerful combination of both ‘heart’ and ‘eye’, allied to a strong intellectual focus on the meaning and importance of a piece of art. This sale celebrates his lesser-known passion for Western fine and decorative art, coupled with a wonderful array of Asian works which Sir Joseph combined in perfect harmony forming the backdrop of his life in London. This will be followed closely by the Old Master Evening Sale, which is led by the Venus and Adonis by Titian and his workshop - one of the finest versions of Titian's most popular subject, and the most important painting by the artist to be offered at auction this century. The sale also includes masterpieces by Canaletto, Jan Davidsz. de Heem, Frederic Lord Leighton, and Harald Sohlberg.
