How to repair AL4, DP0 faulty gearbox in limp mode, solenoid valves (Part 1, fault and oil drain)

My car is Peugeot 307, 2007, TU5JP4 engine, with roughly 70,000 miles, the AL4 gearbox (Peugeot/Citroen) or DP0 (Renault). I havae always had harsh gearbox changes from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd when cold. On a cold engine I was running slightly above 40MPH when there was a huge thud and I thought the rear wheel fell off. There was an immediate gearbox fault at the display in the car. The car went into a limp mode (locked up in 3rd). When home, stopped the car and restarted 15min later. Everything was ok with the gearbox, no fault messages nothing. Later with PP2000 or Peugeot Planet 2000 or diagbox I found that there is P06 or P0006 fault recorded for the gearbox. That was "Permanent fault. Fault in pressure regulation. Variation / recommendation". These are a series of videos how I replaced the valve body pressure regulation solenoids. Of course this includes draining the oil, gaining access to the gearbox solenoids, replacing them, putting everything back together, filling up with oil, levelling the oil in the gearbox and resetting the oil wear gearbox counter. I have not had problem with the gearbox ever since and I drove quite a bit, motorway, city driving, country lanes driving, hills, etc. Good luck! Parts: Solenoids 257416 (2x they are the same, BorgWarner) Rubber cover seal outside: 220940 Valve to body seals: 221916 (2x) Gearbox oil: Mobil ATF LT 71141 (I needed 4L) Gearbox drain/sump washer: AJUSA 20003300 or inner diameter 13.5mm, thickness 1.5mm and outer diameter 24 Gearbox fill copper plug washer: inner diameter 16mm, thickness 2mm, outer diameter 22 (e.g. FEBI BILSTEIN 44850) #AL4 #DP0 #solenoid Disclaimer: Use the information provided in this video at Your Own Risk.
