I wanted to make something a little more introspective and low-key for Mirabel as her second song, change the tone a bit. the first was super angry and had lots of her confronting her family so it felt write to give her a softer song with her confronting herself a bit more. I mean obvi she’s also like ‘you guys all suck and mean nothing to me’ but she’s also like ‘did I cause this? Is this my fault? No no it’s their fault… isn’t it?’ STORY Mirabel has spent her whole life being rejected by her family. She was underappreciated, made to feel unworthy, and led to believe she wasn’t special. After years of enduring the cruel treatment she received, one day, enough was enough, and Mirabel snapped. She went around confronting each of her family members, calling them out for the things they had done to make her life so miserable—whether through direct actions or simply by standing by while she endured the mistreatment. As we saw in the first part of this tale, after confronting her family, Mirabel’s next target was the candle, the very source of their magic. She planned to steal it and separate them from their power forever. She would sever their tie to what made them special and finally they might understand a fraction of what it feels like to be entirely powerless. And so, after facing each family member, Mirabel took the candle and blew it out, cutting them off from their magic for good. But that's not where the story ends. Where does Mirabel go now?
