Scar Tissue Massage, Knee Replacement
Looking after your scar and breaking down the scar tissue will help with your recovery and movement. In this video I'm just over 5.5 weeks post, so almost 6 weeks after my full knee replacement. Avoid starting scar tissue massage too soon you need to allow for healing. Once you are confident to start I find it best to massage 2-3 times a day when your muscles are warm. After your rehab exercises is generally best. Your aim is to generate more fluid movement over your scar and to gradually breakdown the scar tissue. Start off with little pressure and gradually build over the weeks and months. Ensure you check with your GP, surgeon and or physiotherapist before you start.
