On May 25th, a drill simulating an intruder's entry was held at Ikeda Elementary School, affiliated with Osaka Kyoiku University, the site of a 2001 incident in which eight children lost their lives. Approximately 30 teachers participated, and about 20 parents observed. This drill, the second of five conducted annually, simulated responses to scenarios involving "a parent and their acquaintance who confronted a teacher due to dissatisfaction with the homeroom teacher" and "a suspicious individual wielding a knife and causing a disturbance."
