Yandere Simulator is a stealth action video game currently in development by YandereDev and to be published by tinyBuild Games. The game centers on a high school student named Ayano Aishi (better known as Yandere-chan, due to her association with the popular Japanese character concept "yandere"), seemingly devoid of emotions, who becomes obsessively infatuated with a classmate, Taro Yamada (or a girl named Taeko Yamada, both simply nicknamed Senpai). She decides to eliminate anyone she believes is monopolizing her crush's attention. Over ten weeks, Ayano will eliminate ten different rivals. The game consists of a ten-week period, where each week features a new rival, the game's enemies, and Ayano must prevent them from confessing their love to Senpai. Due to its nature, this can be achieved by the player through various elimination methods, from the "mildest" such as social sabotage and blackmail to the most radical, such as various methods of assassination. Throughout the game, Ayano can receive help from an information broker called "Info-chan," who can provide her with services such as weapons, plans, items, or other favors in exchange for panty shots. Ayano must also avoid being witnessed while carrying out criminal or suspicious activities, or she will suffer penalties ranging from a loss of reputation that makes it more difficult to use social interactions to execute her plans, to expulsion or imprisonment, resulting in Game Over. Assassinating students will promote penalties regarding the school's atmosphere, altering the behavior of NPCs to become more suspicious and anxious; the assassination of teachers, in particular, causes an even deeper drop. During this time, she can participate in school clubs that grant special benefits to the player, ranging from losing less sanity when performing assassinations to having easier access to items that can help eliminate targets.
