HPS Single-Pig Pigging System

A single-pig #pigging system is the most common type of pipeline product recovery pigging system. In this video, the product is represented by the red colour and the propellant by the yellow colour. In liquid manufacturing the product is sent through the pipeline from source to destination. When the transfer sequence ends, the product that is left in the line needs to be either removed or recovered. HPS pigging technology enables the product to be recovered in a usable and sellable state. After the transfer sequence is finished the pigging sequence is activated. The valves adjust to allow the pig (seen in this video as blue) to be propelled through the pipeline by a propellant. This propellant can be compressed air, water, CO2, nitrogen, product, or another suitable medium. The pig pushes the product through the pipeline to its destination (typically a filling machine or storage vessel).
