IN FULL: FIERY Manchester mayor hustings as Labour and Reform CLASH in tight race

As the battle for the next Manchester mayor gets underway, six of the leading candidates faced voters once again at a Manchester Evening News hustings. Hosted at Chetham's School of Music, candidates from Labour, Reform UK, the Liberal Democrats, the Conservatives, Restore Britain and the Green Party answered questions on immigration, transport, women's rights and opportunities for young people. The mayor of Greater Manchester has a huge range of responsibilities, from deciding the transport budget for the region from government, including over the future of bus services, to being the public’s voice on policing matters, and being in charge of funding for housing and regeneration schemes. The people of Greater Manchester will come together on July 30th to decide who will take on the title. The stage is set for a fascinating race.
