Goofball, Manipulator, Expert – Who Is Jackie Welles? | Cyberpunk 2077 Character Study

In this video, I take a close look at Jackie Welles – V's closest companion in Cyberpunk 2077 – and talk about how differently he shows up depending on your chosen lifepath. Same person, but with completely different energy and level of expertise. There's also another side to this debate. Some players – including a popular theory by ReyRey – argue that Jackie isn't a loyal companion at all, but rather a manipulator who uses V to climb higher. In this video, I break down that theory and share my own thoughts on whether this is true. Jackie Welles is an ambivalent character shaped by trauma, gang past, bad choices and genuine loyalty. Is he a villain? Is he a saint? I'd argue he's something neither label can capture. This is the fourth part of a series exploring the key characters of The Heist.
