When you're out in the woods of an old place and you see things sticking out of the dirt like bricks, glass and metal you found a good spot. This old deserted farm had been abandoned in the late 1800s and the fields are now overgrown but there are relics to be found metal detecting. With my Fisher F19 metal detector I was digging up old clothing buttons, buckles and other good finds. I knew when I found a small bottle dump area at the edge of this old worked field it was an active area. Reading the landscape history is the best way to fond old places to metal detect.
