It turned out to be a much more complex weathering and video project than originally planned, but it was also a lot of fun, and I think it's one of the most detailed steam locomotive weathering videos on YouTube so far. This shouldn't discourage anyone from weathering a steam locomotive themselves, quite the opposite!
