Shakuhachi Master Bronwyn Kirkpatrick performing 'Hon Shirabe' 本調, Original Melody. This powerful and austere piece is the first honkyoku (traditional Zen Buddhist piece) that I teach to my students. This piece was recorded during a concert I was giving in the beautiful and acoustically perfect Cathedral, in the Lucas Cave - part of the Jenolan Caves system in the Blue Mountains, Australia.
