Restoration of a Very Rare 1950s Japanese Lighter: A Unique Find!
Hi✌️ In this video, I restored a true gem of antique craftsmanship — the Japanese Photo Flash lighter from the 1950s, designed to resemble a vintage camera. This rare item was discovered during construction work on an old holiday resort. Judging by its condition, the lighter had been buried for decades: the metal parts were covered in thick patina, the nickel plating was completely worn off, the button wasn’t working, and there were cracks in the metal body. Here’s what I did to bring it back to life: Removed the old patina and carefully sanded all the metal parts. Soldered the cracks in the body to restore its structural integrity. Coated the metal with copper and then nickel, giving the lighter its original shine and protecting it from further corrosion. The Photo Flash lighter is unique in design, styled as a retro camera with intricate details, including a lens and flash. These models were produced in Japan during the 1950s and 1960s for export and are highly prized by collectors worldwide. Now, this incredible piece of history is fully restored and has become a true highlight of my collection! ✨ Rate my work in the comments from 1 to 10! 👍 Don’t forget to like this video if you enjoyed the restoration and Subscribe to my channel to see more incredible projects!
