Entre Hilos: Charles Taylor, "La era secular"

In this new episode of the season dedicated to the relationship between religion and society, Daniel Chernilo and Francisco Castillo discussed Charles Taylor's book The Secular Age. Originally published in 2007, in this book the author explores the belief system that makes it increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to "believe" in God. Since the modern world is built on the humanist premise that all values have their source in the individual, even those with genuine religious beliefs have serious difficulty articulating the "transcendent" origin of their faith. In the author's opinion, this also underlies the apparent success of ethics of authenticity and contemporary "New Age" ways of thinking.
