Nothing Ever Goes to Plan on This Farm #16
This week on the farm there was only one thing on the agenda: Digging. Digging. And more digging. Under intense summer heat, we started opening a trench around the house in preparation for a future French drain system. This is an important project that should help keep water away from the walls and prevent moisture problems in the years to come. Of course, as with every renovation project, things didn't go exactly to plan. While digging, we managed to find more than just soil... including old pipes and an unexpected water leak that quickly turned into water everywhere. By now we've learned an important lesson: no job is ever as simple as it looks, and almost nothing gets finished on the first attempt. That's just part of renovating an old house. Even with the setbacks, we made great progress and took another important step toward protecting the house for the future. Thanks for joining us on the journey.
